While churches are not required to close during the current lockdown in Germany, we are maintaining our existing hygiene and social distancing measures to provide a safe environment to meet together. In accordance with most recent German government guidelines (issued in April 2021), a medical face mask must be worn at all times while on the church campus both indoors and outside. This means either a disposable surgical mask (“OP-Maske”) or a filtered mask meeting N95 or FFP2 standards must be used. Fabric masks are no longer allowed. The mask must cover both the mouth and nose. This requirement does not apply to clergymen and lecturers, prayer leaders, and singer(s), subject to compliance with other sanitary measures. Therefore, those people on stage during services are not required to wear masks as long as they are 1.5 meters apart. Moreover, we want to remind everyone that congregational singing is not currently allowed. However, the worship team will present songs for contemplation.
Additionally, to limit all services to a maximum of one hundred people as allowed by the guidelines, we will limit registrations so please register early (by Friday at noon). If we need to go to three services to ensure that we meet these guidelines while providing a safe corporate worship service opportunity for all, we will do so. Facilities are being sanitized immediately after the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services with one hour in between meeting times as required. Moreover, our men’s and women’s Bible studies, as well as Sunday School for all ages, will continue to meet virtually for the time being.
When the German government updates these guidelines, which typically occurs mid-month, we will provide you with updates here on this page of the FBC website.
